Tell a story about a happy/challenging/funny/meaningful moment from the week One story that stands out to me from this week was buying our 94 Ford explorer. After scouring Craigslist and OfferUp for days we finally had found a car that looked perfect for our project. We met up with an older gentleman from Aloha, who had listed the car a couple days prior. We told him about our project and he was very interested and thought it was a great idea. In fact, he liked it so much he gave us a discount! and we only had to buy it for a couple hundred dollars! It was a really great experience meeting someone in the car community who was so nice, welcoming and generous to us.  What have you learned?   Ultimately I have learned the importance of caring for a car, treating it well, and keeping up on matinence. While the gentleman who sold the car to us was incredibly kind, the car itself was barely holding on. Driving it back to our location was scary and the car was covered in dirt, grime,...

·       The person/organization you are working with (if applicable), the classes you chose to continue, or the Capstone Project you are working on The capstone project we are working on is learning about the mechanical aspect of cars by independently fixing various problems on cars. We are also getting an up close look at the world of vehicles through buying and selling cars, appraising values, and long waits in the DMV line.   ·       Why did you choose this particular project? The main appeal for a project like this was the independence and type of work that it entailed. We all wanted to continue learning in a hands on way as the pandemic had really limited us in that regard. We also wanted something that allowed us to use our hands and would give us tangible results.
